The Moon Series of Camping books is indispensable to anyone looking for the perfect campsite. I bought Pacific Northwest when I planned a trip to the National Parks in Washington and Oregon. Having never been there before, I needed a lot of information - maps, points of interest, and the good, bad, and ugly of the different campgrounds. This book has all that - and in a easy-to-read format. It will be especially useful to people with camping 'requirements', ie, locations that are pet-friendly or have showers. A must-have supplement to your other travel guides.

I agree with some reviewers that there is not a lot of info on each campsite
But that is not what this book is about. This book has every single campground
RV, tent or otherwise. When you are driving through Portland looking for a place
close to the city to camp, this book is the one to have. It will help you
find a place (which is not always easy to do.)
I live in California and have completely worn out several copies of California camping
it is a must have if you camp. I just ordered this one again because my other one is almost
20 years old so some of the info is out of date. It is great for planning ahead
because if you camp you pretty much need reservations.

This guide really worked great for us on a recent trip through WA and OR. Each time we needed a place to camp, we hauled out the book and were guided to a good spot. The directions and descriptions were spot on. Good one to have along.

We used this book on a recent trip to Oregon and Washington. It's difficult to figure this book out. It is separated into regions rather than listing campsites by city. The information on the campgrounds was up to date and very accurate, however, if you don't really know the area that you are in, you can find yourself having a hard time hunting down a specific campground. Take some time to familiarize yourself with the way the book is set up before you take off on your trip. You will save yourself a lot of frustration later.
