The title of this book drew me - "Moon Phases". The Moon, and the Moon's phases, tell us a lot about ourselves. Moving from the basic four phases to twenty-eight phases was a real "tell" in how in-depth this book was going to be. I also found it quite interesting that it has held its own for over twenty years now.Beginning with the poet William Butler Yeats, and the information that he and his wife channeled over a period of years, to the mystical Golden Dawn, and on to the presentation of Yeat's work in "The Vision" was a journey well told by Goldsmith. In refining Yeat's work, this material has been made available in a manner that follows a specific systgem, and can be used by anyone. From well written text to channeled symbols for each of the moon phases, this is an incredible work. I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to work with lunar energy actively in their life, or through meditation and visualization.

Goldsmith's book is the latest in an evolving development on an important,but usually neglected area of astrology. Much that was obsure and rather inaccesable in W.B. Yeats moon phase schemata was first modernized by Dorothy Wirgin in her 'Phases of the Moon', also, sadly, out of print. Goldsmith goes a giant step further in writing a clear, understandable text which not only presents a broad, general outline of lunar astrology, but also an expanded, deeply insightfull description for each of the twenty eight phases along with plenty of exemplary personages to illustrate them. This is powerfull, subtle material that is well worth a little effort in reading, meditation and reflection.
