AN ALMOST PERFECT LP,

Also available in a 2LPS on 1 cd along with DANNY BOY(ANDY's first LP with COLUMBIA)MOONRIVER is simply an offer that ANDY WILLIAMS fans can resist. If you forget MARIA(never a favorite of mine),this comes close as being a perfect LP.All of these songs are perfectly suited for his voice that can be compared to a melting hot chocolate stimulating your mouth after an afternoon of skying with friends. One of the most satisfying aspect in the decline of rock,is that singer with the talent of ANDY get the chance to belt it out all over again. This will make you want to hear more from him...

Second Columbia album was huge success,
By
This review is from: Moon River & Other Great Movie Themes (Audio CD)
After some earlier successes, Andy Williams joined Columbia in 1962 and recorded two albums for them that year - Danny Boy and Moon River, which helped to set his career going in the direction he wanted it.
Following encouraging sales of Andy's first Columbia album (Danny boy), his second, Moon River, brought together a collection of movie themes and made the top three in the American album charts. Curiously, the title track was never released as a single although it became his signature song. (In the UK, the song became a number one hit for Danny Williams - no relation). Apart from the title track, the album contains Andy's excellent interpretations of such classics as A summer place, Maria, Never on Sunday, As time goes by, It might as well be spring, Three coins in the fountain and others. With the Danny Boy and Moon River albums, Andy left nobody in any doubt that he was a ballad singer with no interest in recording up-tempo songs. That he was able to build a career as a balladeer despite changing musical fashions is a measure of the man's talent.

The Good Times,
By ANTHONY SAVINO (ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL United States) - See all my reviews

Outstanding! Andy Williams performs like nobody else can. It forever reminds me of the "good old days" and how life, movies and music went hand-in-hand. I treasure it dearly and guarantee it will be one of your most prized possessions. I've listened to it for 40 years and I'm still overwhelmed by the beautiful songs and the wonderful memories they bring to life. It is simply too beautiful for words.
