This book has extensive coverage of Orcas, San Juan and Lopez Island, as well as surrounding areas such as Victoria, Whidbey Island, etc. Great recs on places to eat, stay, visit, along with the basics such as ferry logistics, etc. Highly recommend.

If you expect more than a page or two about the San Juan Islands, this is your book. Lots of info about each island and also has a section about the various gateways to the islands...Anacortes, Whidbey Island, Bellingham, etc. Really helpful guidebook during a recent trip.

Our family is going on a trip to Orcas Island and I had been searching the internet sites to find out what was available etc. I have a friend who had spent a couple of summers there several years ago and called him to see what we shouldn't miss. He gave me a huge list of things they had really enjoyed, but I would still need to reseach more information about them to make decisions and set up for activities that need advanced arrangements. I found the "Moon" site and saw that they had a book. I ordered it used, on Amazon. It has all the stuff my friend recommended and all the info. I needed in advance, extra tips for preparation, prices, advice to get the best deals, etc. We leave a week from today, so I can't say yet how accurate the info is or how well it worked out for us, but I feel much better prepared now that I've read the book.
I've used other travel books for previous trips and comparatively found I really liked the organization and ease in using the Moon book.

I need this book for Whidbey Island and it's one of the best one's I have found even though there isn't a lot about it.

The Moon guides series are well organized and easy to use. Have been using them for many years.
