Moon Spotlight Belize Cayes: Including Belize City

This guide focuses on the two main Cayes (Caulker or Ambergris) and Belize City - and it does a good job of it. But this guide doesn't say much about the many other Cayes of Belize. We spent all 6 days of our trip on Caye Caulker, and this guide was very helpful. It was more up to date than other guides and provided much more info than a general Belize guide. Yes, it is still 2/3 the price of the entire Belize guide. But those guides only have a few pages on Caulker and Ambergris. And, again, if you're spending most of your time there, this is $8 well spent. Personally, I'd rather not lug around a giant guidebook if all I need is a small one. Quality over quantity.

Cayes indeed. This only covers a few of the major northern cayes and doesn't even include a map of all of them. I was looking for something that covered all the Belize cayes, like the title says. The title is misleading, and the "Spotlight" series is is a ripoff -- literally. You pay 2/3 of the price of the whole book for a small section ripped out of it. It's just that -- pages taken directly from the larger Moon Belize book and bound together with a pretty cover -- not even an index or a spine label. If I had known that, I would have bought the whole book and done my own choosing -- and kept the index.

Not a very good book, it only covered two cayes and there are several in the south of Belize that weren't mentioned at all.
