Well, on the 40th anniversary of the walk on our moon today I bring you one of the books I enjoy the most about this wondrous satellite, one written by the Astronomer of Griffith observatory and illustrated by his wife Robin Rector Krupp. It takes you though the moon cycles, so much, how cultures have viewed the moon, it leads you to man's amazing walk on the moon. Every page is filled with fascinating information and illustration bringing to life this subject so core to our planet and our daily lives. The book is masterful and every child should have a copy. The artist translate the mind and work of her husband, an expert in ancient astronomy, so it is a rare piece of moon scholarship for children.Make this something you try on this wonderful day of remembering the walk on the light side of the moon.

My first grade class LOVES this book. Fabulous illustrations. Factual information is presented in a way that is clear and easy to understand. Their favorite page is the one that describes some myths associated with a full moon accompanied by a pencil drawing of a werewolf saying "I am not real!"
