A Flute Echoing in the Ether,
This review is from: Moon on the Water (Audio CD)
As if far above the earth, Stan Richardson plays his flute as if in a dream of the heavens. While based very much in the real world of Japanese bamboo flute and nature sounds from lakes, the music keeps escaping from moon and water and seems to take on ethereal aspects of otherworldly places.
The first CD features solo shakuhachi and on the second CD, natural sounds recorded from Stan Richardson's journeys mingle with his playing. This music is well suited to quite moments like when you are taking a peaceful bath or you want to escape into a musical fantasy. I like to imagine I am taking a Japanese bath out under the open sky by a lake with birds flying across the water by the light of the moon. This Zen like meditation music will leave your soul quiet and comforted. ~The Rebecca Review

Stan is the Man!,

This review is from: Moon on the Water (Audio CD)
Must have for meditation and/or just listening and relaxing. Absolutely beautiful music from the heart. I know Stan and the man has soul and knows Shakuhachi.

Moon over Sheman,
By Roger D. Sanders (Sherman, Texas USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moon on the Water (Audio CD)
Lovely; haunting; clear; spirit inducing. Hard to get much better than this. I don't give it a 5 only because my take on my first S. Richardson was pretty magical. This is clear a first rate composition.
