5.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as ``Timeless''? Maybe . . .
But I view them as a complementary set of music, so I rate them together. Regardless how you feel about ``Moonbathing'' as a Sky Cries Mary fan, it should be rated high compared the gobs of mindless schlock that passes for music these days. This group had reached a level of mastery by ``Timeless'', and every note shows. It deserves a much wider listening.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sky Cries Mary - 'Moonbathing On Sleeping Leaves' (Warner Brothers)
Seattle's own Sky Cires Mary with their third major label release here provide fans with yet another seventy-minute plus slab of rather stylish, progressive and inspiring indepth sounds.Husband and wife team of Roderick and Anisa Romero share the vocal duties through out the CD's fourteen cuts.Anisa's voice is pleasing, yet strong as most SCM fans would know.Tracks that are...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful masterpiece!, July 8, 2002

This has got to be one of the best albums ever made. And of course, hardly anyone knows about it. That's how it goes in these days of commercialism and musical conformity. Sky Cries Mary was a completely beautiful and unique band.
Moonbathing was the first SCM album I ever heard, way back when I was in high school, and I still think it's their best one. I agree with the person who compared SCM to Jefferson Airplane (both bands have a female singer). But it is much more modern sounding than that. While Moonbathing is spaced-out rock at its best, it definitely could not be mistaken for something from the 1960s.
The whole CD is wonderful, but some of the highlights include the extremely catchy "Moonbathing" and "Nowhere," the psychedelic rockers "Grey Eyes" and "Queen of Slug Theater," and the drifting and dreamy electronic masterpiece "Insectoria."
I wish this band was still together. I miss going to their shows.

3.0 out of 5 stars Party Cloudy, Chance of Showers......., February 15, 1999
By A Customer
This disk falls just a bit short of it's legacy. Still maintaining their style, 'Moonbathing...' evokes emotion (and a need for pot) with its mystical and haunting sound as it swoons, dives, and cries (still)like nothing else on the music shelf. Though, not nearly as powerful as 'This Timeless Turning', 'Moonbathing...' can still produce the perfect ambience when the clouds come to town and you need a little something to go well with those new mood candles from Cost Plus. I think more of the angelic howls of Anisa would have pulled this album higher to the heavens. Enjoy it, and hang in there until the next album. For those of you just trying to get a feel for SCM, take some Jefferson Airplane and give a couple shakes of classic Floyd. If you're looking for something mature in this contemporary world of mundane distortion and really bad fashion, you still can't go wrong with Skies Cries Mary. New Music for a new kind of human. GZi
