great new indie band,

This review is from: Moonbeams (Audio CD)
One of the best new finds of the year on the indie rock scene. I bought this album at the beginning of the summer and I'm really happy that Amazon is giving it props by ranking it #16 on albums of the year.I really dig this CD for its diversity. It's got some great lo-fi pop songs that are catchy but never reptitive or overly simplistic. It also has some great rock tunes where they really get it going on the guitar. The tracks are polished enough that you don't have to be an indie rock nerd to enjoy it on a first listening but its also layered enough that you will find yourself giving it several listening sessions and still picking out a new favorite lyric or subtle melody. 5 stars.

Personal Favorite of 2008,
This review is from: Moonbeams (Audio CD)
This is easily my favorite album of 2008. Catchy rhythms and beautiful melodies all around. Well composed and arranged with a unique sound. The vocalist has a raw and unrefined voice that completely grows on you.My favorite tracks are "About To Walk" and "Groundswell". They rock. "Young Sensualists" is a gem with one of the most gorgeous opening vocal melodies ever pretty much. "Conquering Kids" is another slower paced song with amazing ambiance and sullenness. |
