Beautiful and Insightful,
By A Customer
This review is from: Moonchild: The Films of Kenneth Anger (Persistence of Vision) (Paperback)
Simply put, Moonchild is the most comprehensive, insightful book dealing with the genius of Kenneth Anger, avant-garde filmmaker and modern day magus. Dealing with themes throughout Anger's Magick Lantern Cycle such as myth and symbolism as well as the occult, clearly laying out their profound importance within the Anger oeuvre, Moonchild should be purchased by anyone wanting to gain true insight into the mind of Anger - what a frighteningly beautiful place - as well as a deeper understanding of his films and their highly complex, fine-tuned structures. A must have.

This review is from: Moonchild: The Films of Kenneth Anger (Persistence of Vision) (Paperback)
Bought this item as a gift for a huge Kenneth Anger fan. Was worried when I received it because aside from the well designed cover the inside was really poorly planned with few images which were all in black and white. He loved it regardless since there are so few books out about this genius. It has great essays and writing about his work. However, the images are all crappy and like I said in black and white. This is incredibly disappointing since Mr. Anger used such vibrant colors and did so with a purpose! The only reason I can see to leave out all color from the book is because it was printed cheaply.
