I had 2 bad lamps at first but Amazon replaced both quickly. One did not have a second diode light working. After a week or so another stopped charging and did not operate. The replacements did not last long as they discharged in about 6 hours after a full day of Florida sun.

After replacing the rechargable cells in each they run from early dusk all the way until sun up. I used simple 900 mah batteries from GE. The ones that come are a little too week for an all nighter.

The lamps are really lovely to see in the evening by the pool and I like them very much. The price was excellent even though I replaced the batteries.

They work well with a good set of batteries and look great all night till AM!!!

I bought just one of these to test it out vs. a $2.99 classic bamboo oil-burning tiki torch. The tiki with a real flame gives off significantly more light -- which is what I needed around a large pool -- and of course was much cheaper. That said, I've only used the oil torches once for a party, while the solar-powered torch turns on automatically and twinkles merrily in the darkness every night. I think for a small yard or garden, these solar torches would be perfect. A few of them would provide enough light to see a pathway through the darkness and look very romantic. And you'd never have to worry about setting the house on fire.

we ordered 5..only 2 lit properly, 2 had to be twisted & shook every evening, & 1 would not stay on, there was a short in the on/off switch. returned 3, now another will not come on, we are returning these also. They look really nice, but the preformance is a big '0' & of course we ordered them for a night party, big disappointment!

Great looking torch, easy to put together, nice, tender light. We bought two of them and my husband and I fully enjoy them!

I had these solar lights shipped to Las Vegas for a Christmas gift. My son was extremely satisfied with them, as the total sun in that climate is perfect for solar lights. He says he most likely will need to replace the batteries with better ones, but is still very happy with the lights. I would purchase them again. Amazon is wonderful for ordering anything - and they ship anywhere in a very timely manner.

Decent product, but really gives off no usable light. It's more of a decoration. It does look nice in the dark though.

I received the 2 lights I ordered and one was great. The other was ok. They were not the same. The better one was constructed better and had the plastic woven strips glued down and no ends sticking out. There were small slightly visible horizontal lines running through the stips. The other light had different woven strips without the lined pattern and they were loosely woven with some of the ends sticking out. I tried to weave them under a vertical part but couldn't move them to a point where they would stay hidden. I plan to eventually glue them down and hope they stay. They do have a similar look at a distance so I did put them both up in the garden by my deck. The lights flicker and they work well. I was dissappointed that the one was a inferior quality. I didn't try to return because I didn't know if I'd get another inferior one or the good one and wanted to avoid the hassle.

I ordered two tiki torches. Both product boxes were terrible and falling apart as soon as I opened the main packaging box. One of the torches weaves on 4 rows were too short and were sticking out.
I haven't tried them yet, but hopefully they are functional!

The segmented plastic pole is not real bamboo and so will tend to bend in the hot sun and lean.
The plastic lens will get fragile and crumble in a couple years.
The batteries are terrible, but with good batteries the circuitry works well, otherwise expect the stock batteries to only last one year.

I prefer real bamboo myself.
