This lantern has been plagued with problems since I removed it from the box. During shipping, one of the two rechargable batteries came loose from its compartment. At first, I saw it as no big deal... until I tried to fix it. The batteries are inside of the top of the lantern. To get to them, you must remove four screws. One of the four screws was so tight that the head stripped while trying to remove it. I finally got it out, and replaced the battery (that was the easy part!). I followed the instructions and allowed it to charge in sunlight for 8 hours. The first night, the light was dim. I charged it a second day, with sun from sunrise until 6PM. The light came on around 8:30PM. By 11:00 PM, the light was dead.

With two batteries and four solar panels, one would think that it would stay light for longer than 2 1/2 hours. I am very disappointed in this product.

I have this in a garden that doesn't get a huge amount of sunlight, but it's enough that the smaller solar lights in the same garden glow brightly for hours after dark. This one doesn't put out much light and doesn't seem to charge fully in the exact same sunlight that seems fine for the other solar lamps.

During the day it really is classy looking though, so I decided to keep it. Perhaps I need to move it to my full sun garden to see if it works better there.

While this solar garden light looks very nice, it does not light up very bright. Nor does it stay lit up for very long. Compared to other solar garden lights we have, this one just does not compare. Would not buy again if I had known how underpowered this was.
