Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Make your house easier to find with help from this Moonrays 93100 lighted address sign. The charming solar-powered sign uses a rechargeable AA NiCd battery (included) that recharges during the day and turns the sign's three white LEDs on at night to illuminate the neatly displayed address. Numbers and directional letters are included for customizing the sign--or for updating it after a move. Best of all, the unit installs easily--no wiring required. Simply stake the two-sided sign in the front yard (posts included) so visitors can see the address from either direction, or mount it to your home, the front gate, or other flat surface with the included mounting plate. Housed in durable black plastic with a plastic lens for weather-resistant performance year after year, the glowing address sign measures 24 inches above the ground and makes a thoughtful housewarming gift.

Owned by the powerhouse team of Coleman Cable and Woods Industries, Moonrays offers an impressive product portfolio consisting of everything from enchanting and whimsical garden lighting accents to attractive landscape and home lighting options. Their solar-powered products offer energy-efficient and cost-saving alternatives to traditional lighting sources, making them smart and savvy choices for earth-conscious consumers. This is a great product in theory. Solar panels (2) on top recharge two batteries. Light sensor on top determines when LED lights turn on and off.

PROS:
1. Three LED lights.. use very little energy; no issues with draining battery or not having direct sunlight for a few days.
2. Solar panels recharge the already low energy emitting LEDs; little to no maintenance (changing batteries).
3. Black casing makes for good contrast against the illuminated background.

CONS:
1. Totally NOT waterproof. There are seams that split this product in half and easily can leak water to the interior. (I have caulked every crevice to resolve this.. I want something that will last more than a year.).
2. Only three LED lights. LEDs do not provide high output, I suppose it is fine, however a few more LEDs would have better.
3. More reflective background needed. Ours is getting mounted against the house.. the black panel does not reflect light (So what I did was mount an 8x11 paper on the back to reflect/disperse the light better).
4. Better off throwing out the rechargeable batteries immediately when you get them.. they are CRAP.

IN SUMMARY:
Only one I have seen on the market that is illuminated; if this is what you want just make sure you are okay with spending time on waterproofing the unit and spending $ on replacing the provided rechargeable batteries.

not what i expected July 2, 2009
this product really disappointed me. It was not bright enough at night, and the sign seemed bigger in the picture. I purchased the lighted address sign because my husband has health issues, and i wanted a bright address sign to help the paramedics easily find my house at night. I was very dissapointed in this product!!!!!!!!!!!

Not long lasting June 10, 2009
This item worked great...for a couple of months than totally went out, maybe because we had a couple of downpours and it must not be water proof, I even recharged the batteries with no luck, I bought new batteries and still it did not work. It was great for the small amount of time it did work but didn't last long. Had to return it.

Worthless at night
It is very attractive for daytime, but the little lights glow so bright they obscure the numbers in the dark, so it is completely useless at night.
