5.0 out of 5 stars enchanting!, January 6, 2007
This review is from: Moonshadow (Masquerade, #84) (Paperback)
I can't imagine why anyone would give this book a bad review. It is an enchanting period piece. The storyline is compact yet emotion filled. Dominic is the kind of guy you cannot understand but can;t help but love..all in all an excellent read!

Synopsis from back of book:
Dominic liked women who were soft . . . But Veronique, now that she shouldered all the responsibilities for her father's plantation, was becoming anything but. Yet why should she care? Despite her girlhood crush on the handsome Dominic d'Estainville, she had never been included in his wide circle of female admirers. Besides, keeping her home out of the hands of Yankees and creditors was more important to her than love . . . until the day she encountered Dominic in a passionate embrace with the oh-so-soft Melissa!

Personal commentary:
I may not be rating this book fairly because I don't particularly like stories set in the Civil War period, however, I was reading books by this particular author and decided to take a chance. The story was ok, but, as realistic as it may be, I felt the main problem was that both of the main characters' obsession with their manor houses overpowered the story and left their relationship with each other somewhere in the background.
