Worth a long drive, but now you don't have to!,

What can I say... The Lost Continentals are the greatest. After becoming addicted to this CD (as well as the now hard to find 4 song cassette from years gone by), I drove 3 hours to Orlando, FL to see these cats. They rocked the house down, as always. Swing is back and the Lost Continentals are its finest ambassadors. This four member group captures so many facets of swing; from sultry to rockin'. Amy's voice has that perfect sassy, swingin' tonal quality. Hammer's beats never fail to get those toe's a-tappin'. Johnny's bass lines are inspiring. Jeff? Well, Jeff's guitar playing has inspired me to become a serious jazz guitar player. Together they create some incredible music. Why this group isn't as big (or bigger) than all those West Coast swing groups (you know who I mean!), I just don't know.So don't let the Continentals stay lost! Find them in your CD player ASAP!!!

I heard this group in Birmingham, Alabama at their City Stages festival, and was blown away. Their sound just makes you wanna get up and dance the night away. It is a band I'd recommend to any true swing fan.

Amy, Johnny, Jeff and Hammer. These four hep cats swing with the best. Amy Pike's sultry voice sways through the groovin' bass lines of Johnny Cowan (Cowan is the bassist of Fine Grit fame) and the rockin' beat of the one they simply call Hammer. Talented guitarist Jeff Passifiume adds the grease to this finely-tuned Atlanta-based swing machine.
