Michael Jackson has a true spirit,

I grew up with Michael Jackson and lived through all the bad press, well this video has two psychologist picking Michael Jackson apart, bit by bit, piece by piece on his addictions, and plastic surgeries ect.. For me a true story would be telling Michael Jackson contribution for all humanity and let the past be in the past, in other words let a lying dog lie. I am sick of hearing about the 1993 charges, and the changing of his skin, who cares, the point is Michael had the true spirit of giving, he was an inspirtation to us all, and in his death he does not deserve to be picked apart and put under a microscope. The only good part to this video is it shows michael meeting princess diana, and some of his interviews. As I die hard fan I am boycotting any more bad press on behalf of a great legend. Don't buy this video.

Truth According to Who?,
By Sheeba (NY, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
"Hard-hitting film of how a celebrity lifestyle conspired to destroy Michael Jackson?" The media and false allegations of child abuse was the only thing that conspired to kill the greatest entertainer who ever lived. The only "inner demon" Michael had was the desire to escape public judgement, media sensationalism and the parasites that used him as an ATM machine. His only desire was to be loved by the world. Shame on this studio release...bone pickers to the end.

Hog Trash About Michael Jackson,
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
Sorry to say this is really a piece of trash. Don't waste your money...spend some time on youtube instead and just watch some of his videos...he was caring, kind, and chose to love no matter what. Has any of us put forth such kindness and grace when we have been picked on? Even alittle by even a neighbor or something? Did HE ever punch anyone out....did he ever go out of his way to humiliat ANYONE? Can ANYONE even find any bit of footage that he was out and out crazy with rage or expletives?? I can only remember him being abit of a dandy...but always a gentleman...yeah abit of a unique kind of person but oh so lovable...you know he spread such kindness.....We love him and that is the bottom line....because he gave so much to us....so SAVE YOUR MONEY and perhaps give to a good cause or charity in Michaels name...AUGUST 29...there is a movement, on Michaels birthday to do something..a good work or charity..you choose whatever you want to do or give..in Michael's name...now THERE'S a good place to place the money you would have spent on this trash...you can see this kind of trash for FREE on one of the gossip news channels....think about doing something good for Michael..Thanks for reading!!

Save your money, this was garbage.,
By Speechless "Smile" (California) - See all my reviews

This was not at all what I expected. I thought that this would be information about Michael Jackson's life from credible sources, not from people who never treated or met him. It was garbage. I am really disappointed with this.

Save you Money,
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
I expected a wonderful positive video about Michael, I was so wrong, instead this was a video with doctors giving their point of view and brief (I mean brief inserts that were played over and over) I just got this today and it's going back tomorrow. RIP MJJ

If you respect truth, don't buy this!,
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
This book does not make sense. Spend your money and valuable time for other books that make sense and tell the truth about MJ. "Michael Jackson Conspiracy" is highly recommended.

Mediocres analyzing a genius, halfway work,
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
I understand the intention of this video to "protect MJ" from further attacks by saying that "he was a child" because of the numerous traumatic experiences he had to go through as a child star. Although it could hold certain degree of truth, it is considered quite one-sided because in this video, his strangeness is under microscope while his exceptional talent is totally put aside.
When you talk about a human being, you need to handle it as one whole package. History shows us that the strangeness and the genius are often strongly connected in a man. You shouldn't just cut apart just one of them and cook it. All the geniuses in history had the experience of being stigmatized by the mediocres as strange because they acted based on their own observation of the world and their own decisions, rather than just following the manual called "social norm". Geniuses are the people who have the spiritual strength to see the facts without biases and think by themselves, while the mediocre does not have the mental and intellectual toughness to do so, and therefore they totally depend on the "answered questions" or "social norm". However, a social norm is nothing absolute. As a manual, "social norm" can ease you to act, saving your time to think what to do, but it is useful only in a certain place in a certain time, and its validity is limited only to "normal" situation. For example, you would not be in the same bedroom with your friend's son if he is doing fine, but what if this boy is terminally ill and confesses you that he cries every night out of fear of death? A person who thinks by themselves might then think that holding him through the night is the right thing to do. He might think that leaving the devastated boy alone to play safe is a hypocritical deed. "Social norm" does not work in those emergency cases. So analyzing everything in the light of social norm is a dangerous mistake we tend to make. Remember what happened to Galileo? Remember how Michelangelo was condemned to paint God and saints showing their whole bodies? Remember how Mozart's Figaro and Bizet's Carmen were criticized for being vulgar? Those geniuses just saw the reality with non-jaded eyes, and just expressed the truth just like the child who said "But the King has nothing on!"" Calling him as a child is okay, I agree that MJ had amazing childlike quality in him, but then, you also need to analyze how important it was, is, will be to have a child eye to be a great scientist, artist, or a philosopher.

I had expected something interesting from Moonwalking - when in fact this video is quite crappy. DO NOT waste your money. Seems as if this video was made to show all how different he was and did not emphasize the person he truly was- a humanitarian who loved all and cared about the human condition. In addition, there is minimal footage of Michael Jackson. I'd have to say in total there's probably less than 4 minutes of footage of him on the "entire" DVD. This also comes with a small book of which I haven't read - but after seeing the video, I do not have the desire to do so. I repeat: DO NOT PURCHASE DO NOT PURCHASE DO NOT PURCHASE!!

HELPFUL REVIEWS,
This review is from: Moonwalking: The True Story of Michael Jackson (DVD)
I read all of the above reviews and they told me all I need to know. This is just another false premise look at someone they know nothing about. I include myself in the leagues of Michael's loyal and loving fans. To me and millions of others, he does not need to be explained by so-called experts. Just so much hogwash.

Looks like a nice set. A book, DVD and a pretty case. BUT, this DVD is mostly a bunch of shrinks telling us what we already know about Michael Jackson's childhood and adult behavior. Looks like it was produced before his death, but a narrator is thrown in talking about him in the past tense with grieving fans thrown in at the end. There is intersting footage of Michael meeting Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor supporting him for going into rehab, and LaToya throwing in comments about her brother and father.
The book is 120 black & white pages with Michael and family photos added. |
