This review is from: The Moorstone Sickness (Hardcover)
Not quite in the league of Taylor's masterpieces such as Mother's Boys or The Godsend but still a very good mild horror/supernatural tale from one of the genre's best ever authors.

First published in 1982 The Moorstone Sickness follows young English couple Hal and Rowan as they move to the small British village of Moorstone to escape the tradgedy of losing their young son who plummeted to his death from their London highrise apartment. Hal has had to live on eggshells so to speak around Rowan (Rowan is a woman by the way, yes Taylor giving her a guy's name does get confusing at times) as London offered daily reminders of their son. Both are sure the extremely friendly little town of Moorstone, watched over by a black Stonehenge aged ancient rock ia the place to be. They have a great house which they got at a great price. Only thing is everyone is a little too friendly and no one seems to have ever moved away from the town, also all the elderly seem to have left their houses when they died or went insane to young people who came to stay who then gave up their careers. There's something weird about Moorstone, a town that seems to have deadly secrets.

Taylor is one of the most underrated thriller/supernatural authors out there, especially outside of England. Check out one of his novels today!
