4.0 out of 5 stars Right on the nose!
One day, Moose looks out the window to see that some workers are placing a sign on the road. "Moose Crossing" it says. Since he is the only moose around, Moose knows the sign is just for him. Soon, his adoring fans show up, just like he'd imagined. Ok, maybe not quite like he'd imagined. In fact, they're loud, rude, and don't appreciate a moose too much. Now it's up to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Moose? No way.
I liked this book a bit, since I love mooses. I'm going to write a short review, because I have five minutes before a wedding starts.

It's good for children and moose lovers, but not for the old people. I would say it's average, and unless you think your child will like it, it's not worth $9.72.

This review is from: Moose Crossing (Moose and Hildy) (Hardcover)
One day, Moose looks out the window to see that some workers are placing a sign on the road. "Moose Crossing" it says. Since he is the only moose around, Moose knows the sign is just for him. Soon, his adoring fans show up, just like he'd imagined. Ok, maybe not quite like he'd imagined. In fact, they're loud, rude, and don't appreciate a moose too much. Now it's up to moose to figure out a way to make them all go away...

This lovely little chapter book is sure to elicit chuckles from young readers and their parents. It humorously explains the perils of seeking fame, and requires moose to use his noggin (and, highly conscientious parents be warned, a bit of trickery) to put things back to normal. Some of the language is clever enough for adults to relish, though like most good "childrens" movies nowadays, it might go over young readers' heads. The illustrator couldn't have made Moose look less appealing, but that is part of the book's charm as well.

This book makes me want to read other "Moose and Hildy" stories.
