Great insight and history by the author - This guy knows his Mopars! Some really cool stuff from the mid 60's through the early 70's! Muscles cars, pony cars, dragsters, Nascar, etc. Plus TONS of technical and data material too. A great book for any car enthusiast...

This is a MUST read for any Mopar high performance fan from the late 50's into the 70's. The pictures bring back memories for those of us who lived through this era and the stats are a great reference. Stories about factory cars, The Ramchargers, Sox & Martin, Petty, etc. run the gamut from Hyper-Pak Slant Sixes to all out fire breathing Hemi's, street to strip to NASCAR. Author, Martyn Schorr, had a job the rest of us car nuts dream about. Icing on the cake is a photo of the author presenting Cars Magazine Match Race trophy to winner Bud Faubel and his record setting Dodge, "tuned by mechanic Bill (Grumpy) Jenkins".

This great book takes you back in time to the era when gas mileage didn't matter. Author Marty Schorr's original reviews of the fastest and most furious Mopar Mopar muscle cars are reprinted from magazines such as Speed, Supercar, Super/Stock & FX, and more, just as they appeared in the 1960s and 1970s. He was a magazine editor at the time and had access to rare, amazing muscle cars (as well as inside information on the cars). He rode shotgun with Al Eckstrand in the Golden Commando Hemi Plymouth, and took the wheel of the Golden Commando's Goldfish Barracuda at the drag strip.

The photos were taken at race tracks, Chrysler's Chlesea Proving Grounds, and on the street. Some of the cars in book include the 1965 Hemi Coronet that was raced by David Pearson as well as Mopar fans will definitely dig it.

And check out a great review of the book here: [...].

A great book for the Mopar fans. A lot of nostalgia racing photos and a lot of info on these hot cars of the era.

The book covered the performance years, both street and strip, sufficiently. However, the black and white photos left a lot to be desired.
