I couldn't understand why these cases were so highly rated and I was having so much trouble. But after reading dozens of reviews I read where someone suggested that these cases were knockoffs and gave it indicators as to how to know for sure.
After ordering my third one from Mophie.com, I now can concur with his analysis. The review that I read had a whole list of ways to know the difference but the two main points that I found were these:
1. A genuine Mophie case will come fully charged.
2. The USB cable that comes with the charger will have the Mophie logo on it.
I am now convinced I own the best chargeable iPhone case available.

As for the battery, if you use the phone a good bit during the day surfing the internet, texting, watching youtube, etc., this this is your new case. The iphone 4 battery is far superior than the one on the iphone 3g. I am not sure if the Mophie Juice Pack doubles the iphone 4 battery, but it might come close. I can go all day and into the evening now with HEAVY iphone usage and I do not even come close to running out of power. I am very pleased with this product. The LED battery indicator on the Juice Pack looks pretty cool too.
As for Amazon, I did the free Super Saver shipping and still received the Mophie Juice Pack in just a few days.
However, once I pulled the case out of the box and looked, I noticed there were horrible gaps where the top and bottom of the case join, and the joint was also crooked with the top portion of the case "leaning" forward at a slight angle. I then looked at the front of the case where the "Mophie" brand is embossed into the rubber, and it looked sloppy as well. Finally, I looked at the USB connector where the USB cord plugs into the case and noticed that it was also crooked and pushed off to one side of the opening. In fact, it was difficult to even line the cord up to plug it in.
When I put my phone into the case, there was so much gap between the top of the case and the buttons that I could only reach them with my pinkie finger turned sideways, and even then only barely. The worst was the power button. This was not because of the width of the case, but was because the case didn't sit flush with the phone, so I had to reach through the case and then even further down to where the buttons were (if that makes any sense).Read more ›
Here's how I use it now. At work, I charge the pack separately and the iPhone separately. With day-to-day use, I don't use the pack. But for extended travel and trips, I keep the pack charged, then slide the iPhone in for extended use. That's one of the nice things about how easily the pack goes on. So I guess it's a pretty decent backup plan for some extra juice (and doubles as a bulky case too which I need more when I'm travelling anyway). I just don't find it that practical for day to day use, unless I really have no access to charging facilities for a long while. And at the price, I don't feel like it's really a long-term bang for the buck.

There are trade offs with everything. You can't have massive battery life without giving up something. If you like the slim form factor of your iPhone, forget this unit! Read morePublished 2 months ago by SandoFam
