Book Description

Best Selling Children's Easter Book Collection

FREE Games Inside - to develop child's literacy, memory and motor skills
Vivid full-page color layouts with Kindle Text-Popups for enhanced reading experience
KiteReaders brings new life to Beatrix Potter's classic picture book in this enhanced eBook, that renders illustrations & text in a tastefully designed digital version.

Miss Moppet, the story's eponymous main character, is a kitten teased by a mouse. While pursuing him she bumps her head on a cupboard. She then wraps a duster about her head, and sits before the fire "looking very ill". The curious mouse creeps closer, is captured, "and because the Mouse has teased Miss Moppet - Miss Moppet thinks she will tease the Mouse; which is not at all nice of Miss Moppet". She ties him up in the duster and tosses him about. However, the mouse makes his escape, and once safely out of reach, dances a jig atop the cupboard.

• Fixed layout presentation that mirrors the visual reading experience found in a printed picture book.
• Ages 3-6

4.0 out of 5 stars The Story of Miss Moppet November 3, 2000
Format:Hardcover
"The Story of Miss Moppet" is very cute. It revolves around Tom Kitten's sister, Moppet, and a Mouse. The Mouse teases Miss Moppet behind a cupboard and when she jumps she just misses him and ends up bumping her head on the hard surface. She ties her aching head up in a duster, while the Mouse comes out to make sure she is alright and then... This tale has an amusing end and makes a good bedtime story for toddlers. They will especially like the illustrations of the adorable kitten and the last picture of the quick-minded Mouse.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Beatrix Potter July 21, 2002
Format:Hardcover
Miss Moppet is certainly one of the cutest of all the Beatrix Potter books. I love the illustrations and recommend this book to any Beatrix Potter fan. Miss Moppet would also appeal to most cat lovers out there. As always, it includes a useful moral to the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slapstick comedy, Potter style November 10, 2001
Format:Hardcover
"The Story of Miss Moppet," by Beatrix Potter, tells the story of a cat who is bedeviled by a mischievous mouse. This being Potter's deliciously warped world, the mouse wears a green jacket and red bow tie.
"Miss Moppet," first published in 1906, can be seen as the ancestor of Tom and Jerry, the Simpsons' Itchy and Scratchy, and every other predator-and-prey comedy carton. Potter creates wacky slapstick comedy out of her characters' antics. And if you own a cat, Miss Moppet's behavior just might ring true. All in all, a delightful classic by a giant of children's literature.

We're quite fond of Ms. Potter at our house. And this is a cute and very short tale of a Kitten and Mouse 'teasing' one another. At first Mouse looks to have the upper hand, and then the tables turn. Or do they?

THE STORY OF MISS MOPPET makes a very nice read aloud. Particularly on those nights when you're tired but promised a story. It's wonderfully short.

The only problem is, Alas!, there are no pictures with this ebook. [And here I am talking about the ebook with the Amazon number: B004UJSIMO.[

Since the pictures that go with this story are so cute, you might want to consider finding a book that includes them. (Even if you have to pay. (don't forget the library))

3.0 out of 5 stars Delightful little story . . . March 12, 2013

. . . but this particular free Kindle version doesn't include the pictures, which are a huge part of the charm for a Potter book. I'd recommend looking for one with pictures.

5.0 out of 5 stars A keeper. January 13, 2013

My daughter wants me to read it to her every night before bed. I'm not sure why as there really isn't much to it and the wording is old fashioned. But if she's happy with it I'm happy!
