Can't Beat It!,

This review is from: Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century (Paperback)
For the philosophers and Freemasons, this title has been long awaited. Though briliant, Pike was always hard reading. This title breaks the barrier rather nicely. What were once misunderstood concepts are now understood. What were once garbled tenets are now clear concepts.
Though Pike is still hard reading, this selection gives the reader confidence that he/she can make it all the way to the last page. Read it. Pike's philosophy makes it evident that this is a Utopian concept but a desired path to totality in nature. While I need to read it again, a lot is clearer since picking up one of the old versions in which I had to read each page two or three times. And, yes, I am a Freemason. A member of John Sayles 1408 in Abilene, TX.

This review is from: Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century (Paperback)
Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century is one of the best independently written Masonic books of 2009 because the authors try their best at retaining the essential Universal Masonic Appeal of Albert Pike's original text by stressing the fact that they are ORDINARY Master Masons in search of more light and including this main Albert Pike theme in the very first pages of their revision/interpretation.
For example, on page 15 of Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century, we read: "A determined and unseen bravery defends itself foot to foot in the darkness against the fatal invasion of necessity and corruption. There are many noble triumphs which no eye sees, which no renown rewards, and which no band of trumpets salutes. Life, misfortune, isolation, abandonment, and poverty are battlefields which have their own heroes- sometimes obscure heroes who are greater than those who become famous. EVERY MASON should strive with this same bravery against those invasions of necessity and corruption, which infect nations AS WELL AS PEOPLE". Deep Masonic study results in an expanded state of consciouness which is unique and different for each individual Master Mason. Albert Pike understood this truth when he wrote Morals and Dogma because it's genius lies in it's ability to convey to each individual Master Mason only as much light as he (as an individual initiate) is capable of receiving. Morals and Dogma for the 21st Century is a great aid to the process of individual Masonic growth through shared experience originally intended by Brother Albert Pike and has my highest recommendation. Buy it today. Enuff said. |
