4.0 out of 5 stars Original Werewolf Twist!
This book is very original in the way it uses the imaginary werewolf horror genre to illuminate the genuinely horrifying and all too real problem of eating disorders. The book has achieved this distinction by combining the expertise of Gladys Furphy who is a therapist specializing in anorexia and bulimia problems with the fantasy creativity of poet Jessica James. 1.0 out of 5 stars Inspires the Gag Reflex...
Wow-after subjecting myself to this mediocre rendering, I am forced to conclude that the previous (cloying and predictably overly wordy) review was in fact submitted by one of the authors herself. Seriously! Pass on this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hungry Anyone?, March 24, 2011

An interesting take upon the disorder with a twist Which translates into blood thirst. Hmmmm I like the originality of it. PLUS being from the area in which it was created from, Southern Connecticut. . .found it fun to figure out all the local spots the book made indiscriminate reference to. Entertaining to read while looking over your shoulder waiting at a bus stop or train station in the New Haven Connecticut area.

Morbid Cravings is a perfect title because the Wolfbitch heroine's murderous binges when she is transformed into a wolf are the mirror image of the murderous deprivation she has previously visited on her starving self. If you have experienced the eating disorders or know someone who has, you will be really fascinated with the perceptions in the book. And if you just like a classic werewolf tale you'll be delighted with the imaginative twists of this one! The ending is enigmatic you'll be left hungry for more!
