More Abba Gold [VHS]

This video had to come out because frankly they were only able to put 19 of their biggest hits on the first video and they had quite a few more than that. What you discover with any ABBA video is that they were quite well done for their time. This set includes the magnificent songs "The Day Before You Came", "When All Is Said And Done"; "Eagle", "One Man, One Woman", and lots of others. There is not a loser in the bunch.

Having purchased the first volume of this video ABBA GOLD, I didn't hesitate to buy this when I saw it. There is a wide selection of songs and video clips on this and it is apparent that they come from all phases of ABBA's career. It is interesting to see the sheer joy and passion in the group when you see them sing "Bang A Boomerang" from 1975 and follow the progression through to their later and more complicated compositions like "One Man One Woman" and "The Day Before You Came" (being my favourite) and the accompanying videos. Strangely after watching the video I was left with a feeling of sadness but also a greater appreciation and respect for the group than what I had after the first volume. I don't know if this is because many of the songs are from the later part of their career and reflect quite a different and more serious ABBA. Have a look at "Bang A Boomerang" and then watch "Under Attack" and you'll see what I mean. It is amazing to see how they aged over the 8 year period as well. But there is no denying the quality of the songs and most of the videos, particularly great versions of Summer Night City (the girls are to die for), Head Over Heels, Happy new Year, When I kissed the Teacher and I Do, I Do, I Do. This is far more than a piece of fun nostalga, it is a fascinating piece of history tracing the final moments of the best pop group in the world. One problem though, I would have prefered this on DVD?

being a hug fan of MORE ABBA GOLD, I bought this video to see my favourite songs in their original form. All my favourites are here: Day Before You Came, Bang A Boomerang, Head Over Heels and Under Attack. One drawback - On And On And On tends to drag and Ring Ring is missing

After being blown away by the original ABBA Gold vhs, I couldn't wait to view More ABBA Gold. Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. ABBA remains the masters of harmony singing and are an attractive group to look at, but the material was in my opinion a cut below their original ABBA Gold vhs. I guess it's to be expected that any "more greatest hits" collection won't be up to par with the original, but I really didn't feel they used the best available material on this video (with the exception of "I Do I Do ..." which should have been included on their original greatest hits video). While I don't know all their recordings, songs such as "Honey, Honey" and "Ring, Ring", which were not recorded on either two ABBA Gold vhs's are better songs than anything on the More ABBA Gold VHS. I think part of the problem may have been that this video includes too much later material, which doesn't have the energy of much of their earlier work.

I think "More ABBA Gold" will be a bit of a disappointment to all but their most dedicated fans.

By the way, if someone would release a vhs of a live concert I think there would be a great market for it, I know I'd buy it. Despite my disappointment with More ABBA Gold, I still rate them as one of the top pop recording groups of all time.

This videocassette was a bit of a dissappointment to me first of all because unlike ABBA Gold, not all the songs from the matching CD were included. Secondly, this video didn't quite reach my expectancies in the quality and creativity of the videos. But nonetheless, ABBA are still the best in my very-dedicated-crazily-hooked-ABBA-fan mind. And one strong point of this collection was that my two favorite songs from the CD were included: Summer Night City & When I Kissed The Teacher.

The ABBA group came together after ten years to gives us some great songs. A great deal of their charm is to watch them. They are all beautiful people with great music. This 50 minute, 13 songs is fun to watch and listen to. Eagle, I Do-I Do, One Man - One Women are familar. The Day before you came, When All is Said and Done, and Happy New Year are new to me and a delight. Waiting for delivery of other ABBA tapes on order.

I once again was not sure what to expect. Was very disappointed that they did not put some of there music videos such as Ring Ring on this video. But as an avid ABBA fan I really did enjoy this video.

I am a fan of ABBA since 1980 ,no one has made an impact on international music as they did.my favouriet song is OUR LAST SUMMER.
