Samuel writes love poems with such beauty. They are not mere words but paintings hung with inspiration's fastenings. The sensuality in them has the subtle power to pull the reader in to its verbal embrace. His poems state romance as it should be, tender, moving, uplifting.

A collection of well-crafted free-verse poems, including many formats, lengths, and backdrops/settings, all of which comprise an immediacy which draws the reader in. As Peralta notes in his poem, "Sepia," "And this is what remains:/dreams of you flickering against the backdrop/ of my eyelids, like the forgotten reel/ of a silent movie." Many of the poems within this collection, HOW MORE BEAUTIFUL YOU ARE, express the waking dream of great love, both kept and lost.

A brief and insightful series of "Liner Notes" after the poems detail the scientific and literary inspirations--from Kotaro Takamura's Chieko Poems to Ovid and a father's "scientific monograph on moths and butterflies."

Praise, lamentation, and exultation all exist in these exquisite and sensitive love poems. This is a collection of work as ethereal as it is earthy. I've read my copy twice and plan on rereading the variety of poems several times yet to come.

While the end of the publication reveals the unique backgrounds and inspirations for various poems throughout the collection, the work of well balanced poems are organized in a meaningful~almost breathtaking order that suggests they were written for each other.
A great read reflecting several styles. An offering of depth and breadth.
