I have tracks of "Here's That Rainy Day" by Sinatra and Jane Raney, who sang it on Broadway, and neither can compare with Vera's rendition. Also, her "Unforgettable" is truly unforgetable.

Vera Lynn has been performing and recording 60 years or so and made countless brilliant albums. Often characterized as a "stiff upper lip" interpreter she is in fact full of heart, warmth and feeling and her impeccable diction itself lends emotion to all she does. Her later recordings are her best--she's just gotten finer with the years, like a great champagne.
