MORE BOARD GAMES!,
By Desi Scarpone (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: More Board Games (A Schiffer Book for Collectors) (Paperback)
Board games are fun! They continue to fascinate players and collectors alike, long after their lives on toy store shelves, and their appeal is rapidly growing. Demand for games has increased worldwide, with the growth of the internet fueling the collector market. This completely new book presents over 1100 new color photographs of your favorite board games, from Battleship to Monopoly, and from Air Mail Pilot to Zap!. It includes an informative text, more vintage advertisements, and current market prices. There is a special chapter on Remco Industries, which had a small but sought after output of games in the 1950's and 1960's. MORE BOARD GAMES continues where the author's first book, BOARD GAMES, left off, and should ideally be used together. They are sure to satisfy the game-playing appetites of collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts everywhere.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: More Board Games (A Schiffer Book for Collectors) (Paperback)
I now have both volumes concerning Board Games by this author. I purchased both because of the marvelous photos of the games. Some of them I once owned or saw on the department store shelves growing up. Some, I still own, like my Spy Detector Game. Looking through the pages, just brings back many fond memories. Especially in this age of Computer Games and X-Boxes. Nothing is like the "Board Game" with its various pawns and pieces, moved around on an artistic designed square piece of cardboard. If I had any complaint it would be that besides every box game cover provided, there were pictures of every board and pieces as well. This is the reason I gave this book four, instead of five stars.
