Another Fantastic Creedence Compilation,

This review is from: More Gold (Audio CD)
This is another fantastic Creedence compilation. It's a great continuation of compiled Creedence hits and album cuts. Some of the hits on this one should have been included on Creedence Gold. But all in all every Creedence album is worth it. For me, there's just not enough Creedence to listen to and it should be a compilation of all their album cuts and hits. But then again, even if we had that, we'd still complain there isn't enough. This is one great fantastic compilation to keep the memory of Creedence Clearwater Revival alive if you don't have any of the other albums. Definitly a must for all hard core Creedence fans. See my review on the Box Set.

Salt from the earth,
This review is from: More Gold (Audio CD)
I enjoy listening to the music on this CD. It is a collection of songs from John Fogerty when he was the leader of the band CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL (CCR). From 1968 to 1972, he had a successful recording career, producing seven hit records. Three of these were released in 1969 and 1970 saw two more. The songs are a mixture of country, rock and blues musical styles. Although Fogerty sounds like the band is from the deep, south-eastern US, they are surprisingly, from Berkeley, California. FORTUNATE SON is a protest song which marks this collection as a relic from the San Francisco scene in the sixties. So many of the songs are so good, I am hard-pressed to say which one I like best. The covers, I PUT A SPELL ON YOU (Screamin' Jay Hawkins), and GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY (Little Richard Penniman) are performed with forceful enthusiasm. LOOKIN' OUT MY BACKDOOR, DON'T LOOK NOW and LODI have a good country-western feel about them, and a strong beat which is easy to dance to. SWEET HITCH-HIKER and RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE ride at a break neck speed. MOLINA does sound a bit tired, and the songs tend have a consistent feel to them after several listenings -- the reason for 4 stars. Aside from that, this is a fun collection of songs from an extremely prolific and talented John Fogerty. If you are interested in music with a southern influence, or music from the late sixties, this CD will interest you.

I rather you take my advice recommend Chronicle Volumes One and Two and hear the essential CCR collection. If you are a Creedence Clearwater Revival hardcore music fan. This compilation disc only has 14 song tracks included here!
