My son is absolutley into this book. You can use it to teach your child before he or she goes to school or as a supplement for kids who already attend preschool!!!

One minus point that I have to give this book is the lack of color in it. It is all black and white. However that doesn't take away the fun of learning.

Your kids will learn all the basic's they need for pre-school and kindergarten. Writing letters is easy as they are pre- printed.... counting no problem, the book teaches numbers 0 - 10 step by step. kids will also learn same and different and basic sight words such as it, to, ten etc.....

I recommend this book for anyone who likes to sit down with their kids and learn. :D

Many of the pages in the first half of the book ("Basic Concepts") are inappropriate if you are beginning phonics or working with young preschoolers. Examples: tracing/learning irregular words, e.g. circle, diamond, orange; teaching sight word reading...in a very tiny font sometimes (p.7); cutting out stars 1" across.

The second half of the book is OK for young preschoolers: tracing numbers and letters, simple dot-to-dots, and counting.

If you purchase this for a young preschooler, start with the second half of the book and come back to the first half once your child is ready for sight words.

I'm returning this in and getting The Comprehensive Curriculum of Basic Skills, Preschool instead.

This is a really good book that will teach your young one:
Basic Skills, Numbers, letters and sounds and safety concepts.
It also includes 320 color stickers.

Yes, this book is all black and white as it teaches your child to color the page based on the number or shape it indicates.
Some pages are left with the opposite side blank as they have activity which will require to cut and paste.
