Great early rap music,

This review is from: More Hits From Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
The three greatest songs here are The Message, Wheels Of Steel and White Lines, all recognized classics. Another memorable track is the first single Super Rappin' No. 1 in all its 12 minutes of glory, a song that later lent some lyrics to the aforementioned masterpiece The Message. King Of The Street is also a highlight since it definitely influenced prominent Rap/HipHop bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The other tracks are not quite on the same level but still enjoyable as pop songs, especially It's A Shame, She's Fresh and World War III. All have their moments, especially in the bass and percussve textures. All in all an enjoyable album of good to great HipHop from the 1980s.

This is a pretty good compliation. The underrated "It's A Shame" and the cover of theis CD are from the 1982 album "The Message." You also get the rare "Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel" and "Superappin I." So this is a good buy for early rap fans.
