Great book - use in conjuction with Irish Families,

This review is from: More Irish Families: Incorporating Supplement to Irish Families, with an Essay on Irish Chieftainries, Revised and Enlarged Edition (Paperback)
This is a follow up to Irish Families by the same author. While the first book list a deal of information about the most common Irish surnames, this one picks up from where Irish Familes finsihed and includes quite good detail about the less common names. My advice - buy both!

A bit more obtuse and less approachable than his "Surnames of Ireland," it more than makes up for this in its thoroughness. Those that find fault with that book for its superficial description of surnames by derivation and location, may find themselves deluged by details in this text. It is rarely my first choice when seeking information, but it is a definitive resource where others might fail.

Has some limited information - but no coats of arms! Found nothing on my families, but you might want to take a chance.
