The book is aimed at people with all types of disabilities and also at the professionals who can help them in their careers, such as vocational rehabilitation counselors, employment specialists, job developers and supported employment program managers. It also is a tool for family members or friends who lend support to someone with a disability in his or her career quest.

About the Author

Alice Doyel is an entrepreneur whose central nervous system disorder began in 1975. She owns and operates Effective Compensation Incorporated, a management consulting firm, jointly with her husband. She has been a small business consultant since 1984, and prior to that had 10 years business experience in market research, sales analysis and retail. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University (Ohio) and an M.S. from the University of Texas at Dallas in Communication Disorders and has completed several Ph.D. courses in this specialty. Alice sits on the Rehabilitation Advisory Council for the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
