Book Description

June 1, 2003
Model teacher Pat Lusche integrates reading strategies and cuing systems into an innovative time- and classroom-tested letter-sound instructional framework that will physically and mentally engage your kindergartners in this learning experience.

She includes complete instructions on how to implement the letter-sound framework using a classroom Reading Wall. Using this program students develop confidence in becoming letter-sound "experts" and serve as resources for their classmates throughout the year. Pat also provides a detailed overview of her entire literacy program, including guided reading, literacy centers, and parent-school connections.

Classroom vignettes, photographs, samples, and reproducibles supplement framework implementation, helping to make No More Letter of the Week an exciting, informative, and easy-to-use resource, readily accessible throughout the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing beyond belief!, December 18, 2010
This review is from: No More Letter of the Week: A Framework for Integrating Reading Strategies and Cueing Systems With Letter-Sound Introduction (Spiral-bound)
This book has it all! This book has done wonders for my class. My students are able to recall the letter names and sounds because of this book. We work on it daily and the kids teach each other. They love to do the hand movements when they are saying the letter sounds. Some of my ELL students went from knowing 3 letters and no sounds to knowing all of the letters and sounds. They even use the lessons they have been taught in their daily writing activities. They are able to sound out and recall and can spell! A friend on the team introduced this book to us and I will be forever grateful!

I have taught kindergarten for 10 years. By far this is my favorite resource. It is a bit time consuming at first, but then it super easy the following year. The kids love it too!!
