I have started teaching Drama this year to year 5's and 6's (11 and 12 years old) and I have found this book very age appropriate for my students. I have used many of the monologues, and most students have coped with the length and content very well. Some of the monologues have a little too much American content. And some of them are a little "Whingy" in nature. However, my students have excelled at performing this type of character role...it's not too far a stretch from real life :) Overall, I think it's a helpful resource which my students have enjoyed and I have delighted in watching their performances! |
