Book Description

It was a debt of honor, but Lucas Brand didn’t have the time.

Jessica Glen has her work cut out for her. Being thrust into the job of coaxing Lucas to honor his debt to Norman Roxbury is a task way above her pay grade. A man whose only passion is making money, Lucas doesn’t deserve the title “Mr. Nice Guy.” But Jess is determined to make the best of her assignment...and of Lucas Brand. Despite his tarnished reputation, Jess glimpses the caring man Mr. Roxbury wants to resurrect from the automaton Lucas Brand has become. And his stormy kisses reveal vulnerability and a yearning that both draws and frightens Jess. She can't be foolish enough to go all weak in the knees for another type-A man, can she? Or is it possible that Lucas's time with Jess was actually making him...lovable?

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Written April 1, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very enjoyable read. One thing I enjoyed were that the characters were very normal acting people. Okay, so one was a millionaire with problems from childhood and the other also had problems from childhood, but they interacted just like normal people. Absolutely loved that Jess would only be pushed so far before she told it like it was. Lucas put up such a good front as cold hearted person with room for nothing but business.
It was nice to see that Jess and the kids could get to him.

There is romance and some sex scenes (hot!).

Would definitely recommend for a nice afternoon read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a Niceguy or is He? April 28, 2013

No More Mr. Nice by Renee Roszel
Lucas Brand's life didn't start out so well, but now he was a self-made multimillionaire. Business was his mistress. Working on a huge project worth millions, he received the letter calling in a favor from years ago. He could ignore anyone in the world but not Norman Victor Roxbury.

Jessica Glen worked as Mr. Roxbury's assistant, helping with the less fortunate kids in the Mr. Niceguy program. Her boss was in the hospital and needed a replacement Mr. Niceguy for this years Thanksgiving Dinner and week long retreat. Jess disagreed that a man Like Lucas would be the best replacement. But it wasn't up to her.

This was a really good story. Watching the ten kids who were chosen for the retreat as they had fun and enjoyed life for a week without the problems most fourteen year olds should never have to start with. There were also so interesting critters and characters to help make the story complete.

3.0 out of 5 stars Did not like the heroine October 28, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The storyline was good. However, I did not like the prissy, judgmental, holier than thou attitude of the heroine. She was very difficult to like or sympathize with, in my opinion. How does one blame a man that buys her father's company, for said father running off with a bimbo and leaving her mother? She was not 12 when this happened, but grown.

Now she is supposedly old enough to be college educated, supporting herself, divorced, etc. so you would think her thinking would be a little bit more mature. She cannot understand why the hero doesn't want to spend a week with a bunch of neglected, sad teens than solve a multi-million dollar problem his company is experiencing. Really?

Any number of times you get the message, time is short and he has a lot on his mind and weighing on his shoulders. So, instead of bottom lining her requests, she asks him how he is doing and starts off with small talk. STUPID It seems anyone that doesn't think like she does is in the wrong. It always amazes me that the women that are so pissed with the guy for making big bucks resenting every minute he spends making them, but has no problems enjoying his big beautiful home, grounds with horses available, servants to grant her every wish, etc. But what a pig for spending time away from holding her hand to pay for all this.

Live in poverty with the guy holding your hand 24/7 and then let's hear what you have to say! So, NO, I did not like her at all. He on the other hand, was a hunk, some issues from his childhood but certainly earning his way and the living for quite a few employees. So, who would I side with? HIM.

She throws an old "date" in his face because he didn't want to marry her and spend the rest of his life buying her everything she wanted. REALLY?

5.0 out of 5 stars Take a Chance November 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
No More Mr. Nice was a great weekend read.

Lucas has a lot to learn about letting other people get close to him and Jessica needs to just allow things to happen. Jessica and Lucas have a lot to learn, hopefully from one another.

When the two of them get thrown into a project, who knows what will happen?

You need to read this story to see what happens for yourself, you will not be sorry. So, take the time to get to know Jessica and Lucas. I highly recommend allowing these characters into your life.

This was a truly great story. Refreshing characters. So check bend on not falling in love. Loved the humor as well, kept it light hearted when it could have been gloomy. Great job. Highly recommended.
