A No Mercy fan from Hawaii,

I had waited a long time for the release of "I Have Always Loved You." I finally found it on an import. I had to open the package and play it in order to learn that this production is of very poor quality. Having opened and played the CD, I cannot return it. The problem is this. I hear this glorious song on the radio and the words touch me. I wait to hear it two and three times a day. The guitars and emotional delivery by No Mercy touches me and is constant in this song as well as all the rest of their music. Listening to "I Have Always Loved You," I feel the message of the words. Then I order this CD import and find that nearly every song sounds like copy cat music. This is not top notch No Mercy quality. Even the song I want to play over and over and over sounds like a copy cat group. This is not the same cut of "I Have Always Loved You" that is being played over local radio. Too, many songs on the CD are cut off sharply at the end, making the entire CD seem repetitious and amateurish. On this CD, No Mercy's dynamic voices and guitars are not enhanced to bring out their total potential. I am thoroughly disappointed. If I assign any stars, it's because the CD included the song I wanted, albeit a poor take...

An overlooked gem by No Mercy,

No, I did not buy this CD just because the Hernandez twins are so handsome. No Mercy's second CD surfaced and sank very quickly in North America, and is difficult to find outside of music stores which specialize in Latin music. In fact, I had to buy my copy in Brasil. I think they were an early victim of the anti-boyband backlash. It's a shame the album didn't get a better reception, because it is actually much stronger than their debut album and great for fans of pop song covers. The choice of songs is eclectic, to say the least, but they manage to make each song their own and it all kind of comes together somehow. I didn't like "More than a Feeling" by Boston, but I like No Mercy's more electronic version, and that also holds true for "Baby Come Back" (orginally recorded by Player). They grace "Consuela Biaz," an old Boney M song, for mentor Frank Farian (the genius/mad scientist behind both Boney M and Milli Vanilli), making the song even more tender than the original. I think their version of "I Have Always Loved You" surpasses that of Enrique Iglesias because it is wistful and sad without descending into melodrama as Enrique does. The best tracks on the CD are the upbeat "You Really Got me," "More More More" (both original songs, not covers), and the sweet, gorgeous "Let me be the One." Marty Cintron has a beautiful voice, and he deserves to be a bigger star than any of the boyband/girl power progeny. No Mercy, we want more more more!

Where are they now,

When I heard the first recording album I loved it. I know they came out in 1996, I am wishing they get back together now because latin musicians are coming out more and more. Their voices are so soulful, in addition their beautiful faces. I think they were short changed and should get another chance. I am a great fan of theirs. It is now 2005 and would loveto see a new album of them even in Spanish. I feel they can still become a great band. So keeping my fingers cross for them to get together talent like theirs never die, they just have to find it again.................

No Mercy does a bang up job on their sophomore effort. This group introduced me to Latin rhythms long before Ricky Martin or Jennifer Lopez. While they are not as "big" in the US as they should be, this German import should convince Americans to give them a second look.

No Mercy "More",

This is an amazing Latin group from Miami that somehow fell through the cracks for most of the American audience. Just by listening, you can tell they were having a ball. The group is lively, soulful and exciting. If you can get your hands on this album and their "No Mercy" entry album, grab them while you can. Highly recommended.
