This movie is one of the few historical pieces that I used in my high school U.S. Government class which the students didn't dread watching. The authenticity of the movie is admirable and delivers on making the Constitutional Convention accessible to students of all ages.

I currently use this movie in training sessions with teachers and they see the usefulness of using it with their own students. My wife who is A.D.D. was able to learn something from this movie and she has no interest whatsoever in government.

You won't be disappointed by this movie.

I am a student and I watched this movie in my Government class and its not everyday that i get fond of a history movie. I got a clearer understanding of what took place during this time of the Articles of confederation and the Constitution. It was so great i want to buy it and add it to my collection of movies.

This is a great introduction to the founding fathers. It gives you a good perspective of the heated arguments and loyalties that each state had to themselves. It is truely a miracle that the nation was formed.

This is not only a very good movie but it's a great educational tool. The scene where James Madison show Geroge Washington and the other how our government will work using tea cups in a pub is so brilliantly simple and easy to understand that alone was worth the price. If you love this country and want your kids to understand where we got our freedoms check out this movie.

Held my childrens' attention (2nd, 5th and 6th grade) and goes very well with the "5000 Year Leap" book. DVD includes a menu where you may choose to listen to an overview of each part broken down into 5 lessons. We watched it over a 1 week period. I only wish the making of the Bill of Rights would have been included in the DVD as well. Otherwise very well done.

As a middle school teacher, I have used this DVD for four years. I find it to be most effective when you can pause the movie and discuss what is going on. I know adults who are government scholars, who speak to the honesty of the movie. While certain liberties have been taken to create drama, the movie presents all major issues of the convention. Certainly an excellent investment for government teachers and American history aficionados.

This video was excellent. My whole family watched it and even my 16 year old, who hates history, actually enjoyed it. I am majoring in history, and to my knowledge, it is very well researched and historically accurate. I also thought the acting was excellent. I loaned it to some friends who also liked it very much.

As a homeschooler teaching the Constitution, I think this DVD is great. The book by the same title is also very good, but there is something about seeing the characters reenact one of the most pivotal moments in our history that makes our book learning come to life. None of the actors seem corny, the dialogue matches up to our books and each character (founding father) has his say. It was fun to follow along with our copy of the Constitution to see who was speaking, what state he represented and ultimately see his signature on the document.

This is a wonderfully executed historical re-enactment of the struggles, thought, & wisdom, and hard work that went into drafting our constitution. It is engaging enough that my 6 year old to 13 year olds really enjoyed it. We gave this to families who attended our 6 week constitution class and each one has said it was a great watch. I highly recommend this resource as a supplement for early American history study. EVERY American should watch this to get a better picture of the intelligence and forsight that these great founding men had as they began the process of building a great nation! May we get back to it!
