I was alone for the evening when this cd arrived. I opened the case in my pajamas, placed the album in my player, and sat down to listen. I was staring into space, feeling a bit depressed, and then the music started. After only a few lines, the tears started rolling.

These songs are the best you will find - the smoothest vocals with the most original and powerful lyrics. They will make you smile, laugh, cry, and feel good to be alive. That sounds so cheesy, but it's just true. Good music makes you feel so many things - reminds you of high school loves and of all of the good that is in and around you.

This album is my favorite from Mary Beth, although Supernatural is a very close second. You'd think that only ten songs would be a short album, but each song is so good that you really can't ask for more! Every one of these songs has something about it that makes it special and powerful. I love them all, and that is rare for me. That's what makes this album the best. There isn't one song that is out of place or bland.

Guys and gals alike will enjoy this album, as will older and younger audiences. There is a timeless quality here, a sound that makes oldies sound new and new songs sound classic. Buy it!!! Whether you like rock, pop, alternative, Christian, just give this album one spin. Oh, and if you love piano, you will not be disappointed.

gorgeous remakes of 'daydream believer' and 'tracks of my tears' eight other piano and violin backed ballads make this album a unique purchase. If you're partial to Jewel, Tori Amos, and Tara MacLean, you will most probably adore this album.

Like everyone else, I was first introduced to Mary Beth's music through Dawson's Creek. This fact causes me no end of misery - I feel that someone as talented as Mary Beth should be on the best selling list simply because of the phenomenal quality of her music.

Once I'd ordered A More Perfect World, I sat around for 16 agonising days waiting for it to arrive. The minute it arrived I tore open the box and couldn't wait for the drive home from work so I could begin to play it.

Whilst the song Daydream Believer has received the most publicity of any song on this album, it was the hauntingly beautiful Souvenirs and Waiting for a Sign which captivated me most. Mary Beth seems to take emotions and thoughts we all experience and create lyrics which are sometimes wistful, sometimes hopeful but always chillingly accurate. Her fabulous voice coupled with her simple but beautiful piano accompaniment means that her songs always strike a chord within me.

Mary Beth says that these songs are her "spare songs", the ones that show her heart on her sleeve more than most. Perhaps thats what I like best about this album. In any case, this is sure to be one of my favourite CD's of all time. I only wish there wasn't several continents between where I live and where Mary Beth performs so that I might see her play live.

I also discovered Mary Beth thanks to Dawson's creek...which is on air in France too.... She has one of the most beautiful voice i have ever heard and each time i am listenning any of her songs ...it makes me fell emotionnally touched and vulnerable ...which make me cry sometimes due to the "true words" she uses in her songs and the melody which are always adapted to the song meaning...

Mary Beth has been busy supplying Dawson's Creek with some of its more memorable and emotion filled music over the past two years. This CD includes most of those songs.

Mary Beth sings with great passion and plays with such authority, that it is no surprise that her career is beginning to blossom.

With "A More Perfect World", Mary Beth has focused on an acoustic sound that is both melodious and entrancing. She brings great feeling to her original compositions such as "Hold On", "Souvenirs", and "Get Here Tonight", and as well as others like "Tracks of My Tears" and "Daydream Believer".

This is music you can really feel, music that is focused on the heart. I strongly encourage picking this disc up. You will not be disappointed.

like many other people who are fans of mary beth i heard her music on dawsons creek. it is an album of truely beautiful songs and everytime i here it it fills me with hope and inspiration. songs like hold on and better than anyone are great tracks and reguardless of what mood u r in can make u feel magical inside. deffinately an must have album

Mary Beth forever!

Every song gets to the core. The vocals are timeless and so gut wrenching. The music is in a word..... beautiful. It's hard to find a c.d. with more than a few good songs. This one is satisfying and soul fulfilling through and through. HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!!!

I too discovered Mary Beth through Dawson's Creek and that alone makes me glad I started watching the show. Although her cover songs get a lot of attention (she's one of the only artists I know besides Chantal Kreviazuk that can effectively cover a song without losing the original's power)her original songs are just as powerful. The opening track, short and bittersweet, is one of my favorites. The songs included here from her album Supernatural are also examples of Mary Beth at her finest. The entire album shines with a heart and energy that carries over into her live shows (I recently had the pleasure of seeing her at the Starved Rock Lodge.) If you like this album be sure to check out her other CD's as well, especially Supernatural.

If you like heartfelt, beautiful ballads that you just have to listen to over and over whenever you put the CD in, you've got to have this CD. I don't think I've ever heard an album that make me feel so many emotions. It reminds me of early Dar Williams, or Diana Krall, or Sarah McLachlan, or Tara MacLean, and so many other amazing female artists out there.

She deserves all the success she finds. Really, I can't say enough great things about this CD. I wish I lived closer to Utah so I could see her live....
