5.0 out of 5 stars A nice take on seed bead stitches, November 24, 2009

It's important to know the different bead stitches for making your own beaded jewelry, designing, but also following patterns published by other 'Bead Goddesses'. Not only does this book show you how to do each stitch, but it also adds some fun to it instead of just making a flat piece of work.

I liked this book as much if not more than Seed Bead Stitching. The book contains great variations of the regular old stitches. The author uses fun colors and great pictures and instructions to move you out of the usual. I think of this as a great reference for finishing off a piece with a unique necklace or stepping up the basic bracelet. The book will be useful for both beginners and advanced beaders.

This is sequel to the first Seed Bead Stitching book. In it the author explores more stitches, trying different variations of the herringbone, daisy chain, peyote, spirals, fringes, and more. This book does not contain a lot of step by step projects, but that is what I like about it. Instead, the author explores each stitch and makes suggestions on how the reader might use the techniques in their own creations. It really leads me to explore my own designs rather than always copying somebody elses.

5.0 out of 5 stars very useful textbook, January 21, 2010

The beading techniques here are Ndebele herringbone, daisy chain, peyote, spirals, fringe, combinations, skinny rope. Some of these topics were in her first book but here she has added new material, new techniques. Book is well produced and the colors in her jewelry are also nice. So this is inspiring as well as a good teaching or self teaching source. Recommended as is her first book. As others have mentioned, one of the pluses is her writing style which is friendly, encouraging and informal.

This book is absolutely brilliant and made me want to create with my beads straight away! I love the way Beth Stone talks to the reader and the way she shares all her ideas and variations and designs. Very well explained, clear photos, great work. I have many beading books (far far too many) but this one is very special (as well as Seed Bead Stitching). I feel liberated and free to explore and come up with my own variations now and that feels good! Thank you for these fantastic books that unleashed my creativity!! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, October 18, 2010

The book is well written. The variety of projects and the instructions are superior. The colors used as well as the designs are exciting. The author's personal comments are down to earth and made me feel like her contemporary. it's the kind of book you will go back to for another project... and another. The book was recommended by an acquaintance, who sent me pictures of her creations from this book. I was hooked from that moment on!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun book to expand on what you already know..., September 21, 2011
This review is from: More Seed Bead Stitching: Creative Variations on Traditional Techniques (Paperback)
Really enjoyed this one and it's clear and easy to use. Nice pictures using color coded beads in the diagrams make following along easy. I really hunt down chain stitches so this was a great find for me. I like the way the author makes a few changes and gives a new look to stitches most already know. I have also found myself experimenting more on my own with bead counts and sizes which I also think is a good thing. So if you are looking for chain elements that are very versatile this is a great choice for you.

This is a great book for inspiration. It starts out with the basics and offers variations to charge your imagination. Lots of pictures and nice illustrations. This book is more about techniques than complete projects so I would not recommend it to a beginner. However, it has lots of inspiration for the beader with a little more experience.

This is a brilliant book - just as good, if not better than the first one. The instructions are very clear to follow and the designs are fun, unique and have definitely inspired me to add several of them to my collection.
