5.0 out of 5 stars Short and Simple yet Spiritually Uplifting, December 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: More Snacks for the Soul (Paperback)
"More Snacks for the Soul" and the companion book "Snacks for the Soul" are a collection of simplistic but spiritually inspiring stories or incidents - one for every day of the year. It appears that the stories have been derived from ancient Indian and other eastern scriptures, whilst the incidents are happenings in the lives of saints and/or Great Ones of the East (India, China, Japan, Middle-East) and the West (US, UK, Russia etc) such as these - Sri Krishna, Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, The Buddha, Prophet Muhammad, Confucius, St. Mira, St. Augustine, Swami Vivekananda, St. Tukaram, St. Rabia Basri, Sadhu Vaswani, Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Carlyle, Isaac Newton etc.

Also quite uplifting is a lot of material that is just based on general topics such as - The joy of Sharing, Temptation, Humility, Power of Attitude, Power of Thought, Selfless service, Compassion, A Mother's Love, etc.

Language is quite simple to understand, which will be appealing to the youths. However, a little more editing would have brought out the best in these books. I believe these books will be a good addition to any spiritual collection.
