Great follow up to "Birth School Work Death"., December 18, 2010

3rd album by these alternative rockers out of london, England. "More Songs About Love & Hate" #174, is the follow up to their best known work "Birth School Work Death" in 1988. "More" is again produced by the late Vic Maile. The album opens with the hard rocker "She Gives Me Love", which hit #8 on the modern rock charts, a great opening track, followed by "Those Days Are Over", the half-talk, half-sung tune, good riffage on this track. The biblical name checks in the rockin' "How Low Is Low", great guitar by Kris Dollimore. "Pretty Girl", is a nice rocker, these guys could harmonize with the best of 'em. The frenzy of "This Is Your Life", one chord done at the end 79 times. (Crazy). Their 2nd single was "I'm Lost And Then I'm Found", didn't chart, but it has that great rock n' roll feel, this group had that in spades. "I Don't Believe In You", a 60's sounding pop-rocker, a very lovely song in The Godfathers canon. "Life Has Passed Us By", has kind of a honky feel to it, with good piano by Kris. "Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues", is a real dynamo!, Peter's vocals give this song that extra kick, good licks all over, should of been on every rock station back in 89 and '90, DIG IT! "Halfway Paralysed", a simple pop-rock tune. They finish the album with the majestic sounding "Another You", a catchy simple guitar piece, just beautiful, love those chimes at the end. I've had this album for over 21 years now, and still play it, it's that good.
