Between science and superstition - a place we've been before, August 23, 2010
This review is from: More Stories from the Twilight Zone (Paperback)
Rod Serling's wife, Carol has continued to carry on the Twilight Zone tradition with these additional 19 stories. There is one previously unpublished story of Rod's and a story by his brother Robert.
Some have obvious endings, especially if you are a Twilight Zone aficionado. There are a couple that could really lead someone astray historically, if they think they are based on fact. Many make you smile and some are vaguely familiar if you read enough of this genre. Many deal with time travel and the world ending and of course alternate realities.
If you enjoy or want to know what the Zone is like this would be a logical book to get.

strong collection, September 2, 2010
This review is from: More Stories from the Twilight Zone (Paperback)
The second Twilight Zone anthology edited by Carol Serling contains nineteen strong entries that will remind readers of the TV series with final twists and intriguing paradoxical morality dramas. None of the entries are bad, but a few are excellent. This reviewer especially enjoyed the historical lessons of "Curve" by Loren Estleman, "Reversal of Fortune" by Robert J. Serling and "The Mystery of History" by Lee Lawless. Also super are David Gerrold's twisted take on employment in the Twilight Zone "Sales of a Deathman" and Nancy Holder's romantic spin in "By the Book". Fans of the series will fully appreciate the compilation fittingly ended with "An Odyssey, Or Whatever You Call It, Concerning Baseball" by Rod Serling as next stop is Yankee Stadium, a dimension as vast in centerfield as space but with a short leftfield porch that makes it timeless.

Amazing!, August 20, 2010
This review is from: More Stories from the Twilight Zone (Paperback)
The 2nd is better than the first. This collection builds on the fertile ground of Serlings' breakthrough TV series. 19 collected stories take readers on a journey beyond, even into a private Twilight Zone!
The collection includes:
Obsession: David Black
The Ides of Texas: Douglas Brode
I Believe I'll Have Another: Loren L Coleman
The Bloodthirstiness of Great Beauty: M Tara Crowl
Thoughtful Breaths: Peter Crowther
Earthful: John Farris
The Couch: Peter Farris
Sales of A Deathman: David Gerrold
By the Book: Nancy Holdner
The Mystery of History: Lee Lawless
Writing on the Bathroom Wall: Jane Lindskold
Stanley's Statistic: Jean Rabe
The Last Christmas Letter: Kristine Kathryn Rusch
Reversal of Fortune: Robert J Serling
An Odyssey: Rod Serling
Eye for An Eye: Susan Slater
Dead Post Bumper: Dean Wesley Smith
Where No Man Pursueth: Norman Spinrad
Not all of the stories are fantastic, but my favorite is Sales of a Deathman, with By the Book taking a twist on romance novels few dare take! Rod Serlings`contribution is amazing, and the Last Christmas Letter is a masterpiece deserving of a TV episode.
As a writer, I would love to be part of this legacy! As a reader, I am pleased to be along for the ride.
