5.0 out of 5 stars YES TEACH ME!
Morgan Heritage continues to teach us about our past, present and future. At first I was'nt sure if I liked this cd, but the more I listen to it I began to question things i had learned along the cultural lines.....Then I began to "SEE THINGS CLEAR" one of my favorite tracks. The wonderful thing I liked is that you can sing right along with the Heritage because...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wha?
I expected more out of this album. Herritage is begin to falter. Nothing awe inspiring contained herewith. Shame really. I was introduced to Heritage when I went out on a limb with their "live in europe" cd, which by the way is a superb live set, and subsequently started to pick up the others. This I was hopeing would be a collection of masterpieces, judging...

Morgan Heritage continues to teach us about our past, present and future. At first I was'nt sure if I liked this cd, but the more I listen to it I began to question things i had learned along the cultural lines.....Then I began to "SEE THINGS CLEAR" one of my favorite tracks. The wonderful thing I liked is that you can sing right along with the Heritage because this cd comes with the words to all the songs! "MASKAL SQUARE" and "KEBRA AND THE FETHA" are two songs that got me thinking and asking a lot of "QUESTIONS" (another great track). MORGAN HERITAGE you get two thumbs up for this one! I own four of your cd's and I will keep buying if you keep teaching. Recommended for the cultural listner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fire and roots,, February 7, 2004
This review is from: More Teaching (Audio CD)
Morgan Heritage play some of the best roots on earth - this is positive, spiritualy uplifting music with excellent muscicianship to back it up. There's no slackness here.

The album falters, however, in the few rap and r + b numbers. It is good that the band shows the desire to play a range of styles, but I think they'd be better off pulling off a dub version or a ska number.

Yet there are only a few of those tunes, and they can easily be picked off in a mix or by converting to mp3.

I'd recommend it to any serious reggae fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Mello and truly uplifting, March 29, 2004
This review is from: More Teaching (Audio CD)
Morgan Heritage's "More Teachings..." has several styles of music that makes for easy listening. Most important the overall message of the CD is positive and uplifting. This CD not only teaches a cultural message, it also teaches the infusion of music styles with Reggae. Leading me to say that the musicianship stands for MUCH praise along with the vocals.

KEBRA AND FETHA is a mellow tune with an R&B sound. However my favorite overall is MORE TEACHINGS... The background vocals are amazingly rigid. Also much praise to the vocals on QUESTIONS defiantly another favorite of mine.

Again overall the CD is great and I would highly recommend it to all. Not just for the Reggae lovers, but I think this CD could even transform the hearts of many diehard R&B and Soul fans.

Morgan Heritage an eclectic type of reggae with a message in each song. Some about freedom, oppression, education, and status. A nice mellow piece of music.

If one listens to the words it would become clear that Morgan Heritage is opening up the doors for young ethiopians who seek knowledge.

4.0 out of 5 stars They Excel in Excellence, March 20, 2001
This review is from: More Teaching (Audio CD)
Comprised of various styles, the majority of which is cultural, this CD is another fine release in the contemporary reggae roots music movement. It's always refreshing to hear a woman's voice in reggae, and oh what a great one Una is gifted with.

Highly Recommended

4.0 out of 5 stars Morgan Heritage still on the rise !!, May 4, 2001

This brand new album is in one word " GREAT " more songs on this album with diffrent lead vocals. You can hear Peter, Gramps, and yes !! refreshing Mr Mojo. Una is, as usual.. fabulous! A lot of roots and a lot of concious lyrics! One thing though.....maybe a negative side for me as a Reggae lover: Please no more r and b or "poppy" songs. But the goose bumps i got when i heard " more teachings " for the first time made me forget the two poppy songs imidiately. Morgan Heritage : FORWARD !!

I expected more out of this album. Herritage is begin to falter. Nothing awe inspiring contained herewith. Shame really. I was introduced to Heritage when I went out on a limb with their "live in europe" cd, which by the way is a superb live set, and subsequently started to pick up the others. This I was hopeing would be a collection of masterpieces, judging seeing them live in Tampa, Fl, but alas... nothing seems new. A collection of tracks, whose rhythms are used by other artists, a couple of weak attempts, a couple of flops, a few very good tracks and you end up with something that lets you down for the most part. HOWEVER, I would still have bought it had I know all this before.

Blessed love

Kader
