5.0 out of 5 stars And old book with timeless patterns
I borrowed this book from the library and loved it so much that I bought a used copy online. These are timeless patterns that are sometimes hard to find in newer books. Published in 1987, there are still many used copies available through Amazon's used books or eBay. I highly recommend this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Precision flying geese for patient quilters
This book may be useful to quilters with a large library. However, I do not recommend it for persons trying to find instructions for timesaving patterns. Other books on piecing have clearer instructions and would be a better choice for beginning to intermediate quilters. I wanted a shortcut method to produce the flying geese pattern. This review is from: More Template-Free Quiltmaking (That Patchwork Place, No. B-88) (Paperback)
After completing a test block, I decided the method is too tedious. My sample block was precise but took me far too long to constuct accurately. I have been quilting since the 1970's and find the instructions clear, especially if you use the recommended rulers. The biggest downside is that there is no room for fudging if you make a mistake. Be sure to purchase extra fabric to allow yourself to redo a block if you make a mistake. I consider "More template free quiltmaking" a one time use book.
