More About the Author

Amanda Vyne has been a high school history teacher, a sailor, a secretary, a maid at a seaside resort, an emergency room assistant, a telemarketer, a nuclear laundress (someone has to clean the radioactive clothing), a waitress (the worst one ever), and the list continues. You never know what trouble she could be hatching up tomorrow. Her mind is in the clouds, her spirit longs for mountains and dreams of the ocean but her heart truly belongs in the small Midwestern town where her feet are firmly planted amongst the corn with two crafty kids, one very tolerant husband, and two half pint dogs who are probably carrying off her shoes through the doggie door right now.

Gabrial is a Sanguen, a type of vampire. His society is complicated, old, and hasn't moved on with the times. Sanguen have what they call a house for every bloodline, sort of like a council, which controls everything that a vampire of that lineage does. Gabrial is currently serving as a house Marshall, another name for an enforcer. He doesn't always agree with the old ways, and in this case is pursing someone that he's not been given permission to go after. While watching the man, he meets his mate, and she is the most unsuitable woman fate could have picked for a high ranking Sanguen male.

Kel is a half breed, Changeling and Sanguen. She was thrown out of the Sanguen house for being a half breed and put into a terrible situation as a child. She's pulled herself out of that life though, and is currently a type of investigator for a large firm. During her bust, she finds a man that she never wanted to meet... her mate.

Oh my, so complicated. Kel and Gabrial both end up driven by instinct and blood bonded against both of their wishes. His because she is unsuitable, hers because the last thing she wants is a Sanguen male, or any male for that matter, but particularly this one. It's an interesting twist because so often when characters meet like this they are instantly in love and simply fighting feeling. Here they both realize that they don't want it, but fall in love anyway. I love Kel because she is definitely a strong heroine, and can put away the bad guys all by herself. I like that she didn't suddenly need Gabrial's help every time she turned around. That's sometimes one of my pet peeves with romances, the heroine is perfectly capable before she met him, why is she not capable after?

Bought it on a whim, and can't say just how pleased I was with this e-book! Sexy, dark, often times twisted, with visuals and a history that is fleshed-out rather well. It's evident that Amanda truly cares for the characters she's constructed. Can't wait to start in on her newest title!

I found this book for free. I would have paid for it. Don't let the cover fool you. This is a wonderful read with an in depth story. The description does a good job setting up a plot for you. The characters are real and deal with real issues even though it is a paranormal genre. There are great sex scenes. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

This version of vampires is intriguing to say the least. Gabe and Kel are struggling through a blood bond neither of them wanted. This book is not a young adult book this is an adult romance book. The sex scenes are explicit, the story is easy to follow, and the bad guy is a really bad guy. I enjoyed the book, the story, and the mystery of the story. Good read.

This is a great book, however, it drags out a little bit. The inner monologue especially. "Oh I'm scared. I can't trust him. Do I love him or don't I" and then Gabe, "she's a crossbreed, but I love her. Don't I? Why can't she trust me?" Then there's quite bit of sex thrown in and up comes the monologue. I'm at 78% and I'm not sure if I can finish this book.

After a couple of pages I was hooked since I love a good paranormal romance and this book is a true paranormal book with Sanguens (vampires), witches, dragons, guardians, elementals, crossbreeds etc it also has lots of sex, it had so much potential but in the end it never quite reached its early promise, the reason I've only given 3.5 stars well.... firstly the identitity of the killer was obvious early on, which isn't a major point I don't think it was supposed to be a surprise but it would have been nice to have a bit more mystery. The bonding or mating between Gabe and Kel was dragged out too much, she fought against the inevitable for too long, parts I felt were a bit laboured and repetitive and I know she's been through a lot in her life but blindly running into situations of danger were silly if she didn't want to take Gabe take Raife or someone else.
On the plus side most the characters were well written and the author has created an intriguing and interesting world and Raife, I really liked Raife, will I read the next book...you know I just might give it a go.

More than Blood was more than a good read, it was a great one. Amanda Vyne deeply channeled her energy into this one. Gabrial Ferrar’s character is flawless, not literally, but I loved him! He is so strong-willed and determined, these are traits I love about characters in fictional books because it’s so inspiring and the line between fiction and the real world is blurred and overrated anyway.

His journey sent him on a path he shall never forget and he meets someone that sets our hearts on fire, their passion and romance is unforgettable. There is drama, there is mystery, there is romance and intrigue and I loved every bit of it.
Ripe with suspense and nicely edited, this page- turner is a must read.

There is quite a bit about this book that I liked, I really felt the supernatural world the author built was done very well and it kept me interested through the entire story, the only downfall was the interaction between Gabrial and Kel. I didn't feel the combustible zing between them in a story with a world that was built so strong. I believe in this series and I can see it doing really well with some added emotional investment for Gabrial and Kel.
