Unexpected surprise, June 2, 2002
This review is from: More Than Life / 2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad (Audio CD)
I had never bought a singles CD. I hadn't heard any of her music until I got this. I was more than pleasantly surprised with what I got.
Where has she been hiding? A great voice. "More than life" is a very good song. And then to find an old favorite of mine also on the disk just finihshed my joy.
This was well worth the money and I definitely am buying the album. And I've been telling my friends about this great female talent I stumbled over in Native People magazine.

This cd is great!! Jana is a beautiful lady and a beautiful singer. The dance remixes of the song are perfect for dancing, energetic, uplifting, and just plain phenomenal. Other than that, words cannot come close to describing how this song will blow you away. However, I can say that if you like pop and dance, you'll love this cd.

Talented, Beautiful & An Inspiration to her people, April 30, 2002

Jana who is working on a 5 octave vocal range is from the Lumbee tribe in North Carolina. Many people are not aware that Heather Locklear is also Native American from this tribe. The tribe is large, though not federally recognized.
Jana has been in the biz for years, starting with Curb Records. I have always hoped for her star to shine, but I believe Curb was not a good choice for her career. She was the only pop/urban artist among a country label (Faith Hill, The Judds are on Curb). She is now with Radikal Records a German based record company specializing in dance music. She also now has the same manager as Sabrina Paris.
She has worked with DJ Skribble and Anthony Acid. Her music represents Native American beats (drums are sometimes referred to as heartbeats) as this type of music shares many of the same qualities with many forms of pop, urban, techno, hip-hop, rap, and reggae music.
She won the NAMMY (Native American Music Award) in 2000 for her song, "Ooh..Baby, Baby". She deserves nothing but the best working so hard and also earning her BFA while recording and touring! Britney and Christina need to watch their backs, because the Native wave is coming beginning with Jana.
