More Than a Minute provides a refreshing look at the original "secrets" of effective managers explored in The One Minute Manager more than 25 years ago. It offers up-to-date methods and practices to prompt the thinking required to address today's challenges. Unlike many other management books, it is based on time-proven practices and actual business applications used by companies around the globe. More Than a Minute is written by a practitioner. As president of The Ken Blanchard Companies, Holly Green worked closely with Ken, co-author of The One Minute Manager. But much has changed since that book was published...and More Than a Minute is the title today's managers desperately need.<
By following the simple processes outlined in this book and utilizing the tools and templates provided, you'll have what you need to apply these principles effectively to: * Think about and conduct strategic planning at the company and team levels * Set or uncover the goals in your organization * Inform, inspire, and engage your employees in the strategies and goals * Realign actions of employees to achieve higher results * Continue learning and leveraging your strengths
More Than a Minute is not about the theory of leading and managing. It is about the doing it in today's context.

Unlike many leadership and strategy books, More than a Minute includes an array of straightforward tools and techniques that enable readers to put strategic principals into practice. Five stars!
This book is an excellent frame for strategic planning and execution. From the perspective of a strategist and business coach, I find it interesting because More Than a Minute follows so much of what I do in my practice... I could give it to prospects and say "this is what we're going to do". I think the audience is one where they are theoretical about wanting to learn about strategic planning and implement what they learn. There are so many good sections of questions and other tables in the book that you can start using tomorrow... very practical and useful.
If you're looking for a fresh approach to effective leadership, look no further, this is it! In More Than a Minute, Holly G. Green walks the reader through the complex world of management and breaks it down into easy to follow steps complete with tools for implementation and checklists to ensure success. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their leadership skills!
More Than A Minute is an excellent tool to support your organization's planning and goal-setting exercises. After reading the book, we purchased a copy for every Manager in our company. Holly Green provides a great deal of easy-to-follow guidance on how to set proper goals and how to structure strategic planning that will help drive organizational performance.
More than a Minute is informative and insightful. It is a terrific resource for business owners, managers and employees alike and written in an open, friendly way without pretension or tired cliches. I plan on sharing this book with everyone on my team.
This is not just a sequel to "The One Minute Manager" but compliments it well. One contains foundations and the other contains clarity to those basic foundations with strategies for leaders and managers in todays changing world. Read both!
Giving feedback is often one of the things we avoid because we think it is all about conflict. This book offers some excellent insight into what feedback is really about and more importantly how to do it.
Holly G. Green capably covers basic leadership and management, and stresses the importance of communication, honesty, feedback and goal setting. Her book, while not particularly innovative, will help novice managers set objectives and meet them by working with the people they lead. Green's goal, as former president of The Ken Blanchard Companies, is to expand on the advice Blanchard gave in his classic, One Minute Manager, decades ago - hence, her book's title. Green's counsel on dealing with problematic employees will be particularly useful to beginners. Experienced managers and leaders managers are undoubtedly familiar with this material, even if they aren't updating it or putting it into practice, and that is where getAbstract thinks this back-to-basics, contemporary manual might spur them to action.
