Beautiful layouts, light on content,

This is like a beautiful, colorful picture book. It's very pretty to look at but there are no instructions on technique and the tips and tricks are so vague and broad that they're basically useless. Almost every artist has come up with the idea of making a greeting card from the leftover supplies, I was hoping for more variety in the ideas. However I did give this four stars as this was such a beautiful book and the layouts (but not the craft ideas) were inspiring.

I am always looking for ideas for projects to work on or incorporate into other things. I'm not a so called "scrapbooker", I kind of do my own thing from cards to mini books to jewelry to wall art. To get my creative juices flowing I love to sit back with my books and magazines and look at other peoples work in them. When I order my books off the internet, I don't know if they will work in my "library" or not. This one definately did. This book had a lot of projects that were really good. Just like the title of the book, the pages will "inspire" you.

This book is very pretty, visually - but to say it has anything to do with ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) is very misleading!

I try to avoid being repetitive, so I will simply say that I agree with everything Tassu outlined in her review.
However, I am not so generous with the stars. Anyone who has been paper crafting for any period of time will surely have made tag books, greeting cards, altered clipboards, paint tins, etc. For a 2006 publication, I feel this book could/should have been less repetitive and a bit more creative. The only idea that I hadn't seen before was a wreath made out of decorated puzzle pieces. |
