Part of the "for dummies" series, this book covers the latest Unix releases, System V, SunOS and Solaris. Also featured are Internet facilities, as many Internet users run Unix.
If you're new to UNIX, you might also consider getting their earlier UNIX for Dummies, which covers introductory topics in the same inimitable style.

Don't think about it,

This review is from: More Unix for Dummies (Paperback)
I think this book could be summed up in about 3 pages and still wouldn't be good. All it does is go into mindless paragraphs that explain nonthing. All I learned was how to use ed and emacs and some easy networking stuff. I think that it should go more into detail and not so dummied down. I know that it says for dummies but it was too dummed down.

A lot of money for little practical use,
By A Customer
This review is from: More Unix for Dummies (Paperback)
I loved 'UNIX For Dummies', and bought 'More UNIX For Dummies' in the hope it would be as good. As with the majority of sequels, it couldn't live up to its predecessor. I wanted the same scope and detail that 'UNIX For Dummies' offered, but found that 'More UNIX For Dummies' covered subjects that the average user was unlikely to use, especially with the advent of Netscape/Microsoft Explorer/UNIX GUI's. Also, it was very 'dumbed down'. My advice is to buy just 'UNIX For Dummies', then once you are familiar with UNIX, use the man pages for everything else.
