From the Publisher

Psychologist Sandra McLeod Humphrey encourages parents and teachers to talk to children about values and to help them formulate their own personal value systems in the face of peer pressure, even when following their own conscience may mean going it alone. Children can easily identify with the moral dilemmas presented in the stories and the questions at the end of each story encourage productive, in-depth discussions about the moral choices suggested by each story. Kids will enjoy reading through the stories and then deciding what to do.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful By Karl L. Kruger on February 7, 2008
Format: Paperback
Carrying on with her series on ethics and behavior, Humphrey presents the reader with twenty-six more scenarios that address problematic issues in a child's life. The author, as in the other books in the series, follows each "parable" with a number of questions that are designed to promote discussion and problem resolution. In this offering, however, Humphrey also lists in the Table of Contents the specific issue addressed in each parable (e.g. Fair Play, Empathy, Attitude, Adapting to Change). This addition makes this book an invaluable tool for a teacher or parent who needs help addressing a specific behavioral or ethical topic. Most highly recommended for any teacher, parent, or grandparent interested in pursuing lively discussions regarding ethics and behavior with children.

Karl L. Kruger for the American Author's Association
